What Meditation Actually Is

Meditation is not concentration. Concentration is effort; meditation is the release of effort. You are not trying to stop thoughts — that is like trying to stop weather. You are learning to stop chasing them.

Deep rest is the measurable outcome. In twenty minutes the body can reach a state of rest deeper than sleep, which is why people come out of it looking like they slept for hours and behaving like they have a new fuse box.
